About block 134: a community arts & wellness collective

Block 134 is located in the (not so) "Quiet Corner" of Northeastern Connecticut, New England, in the thriving and quaint downtown district of Putnam. Putnam has enjoyed a recent cultural renaissance and is a vibrant area filled with acclaimed restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and antique stores. The Putnam Arts Council and Putnam Business Association provide annual events that draw many to our area. See why Boston Magazine named Putnam one of the top 15 small towns to visit! Silver Circle Gallery and Art Center was established by longtime NECT resident Carly Sage in 2008 as a dynamic place for local and regional artists to convene, connect, share, inspire and enrich our tightly-knit community. Now celebrating 15 years, Silver Circle has proudly become a respected establishment in the arts community that has positively impacted many people’s lives. It's beautiful art gallery provides the community with a gathering place to contemplate art and creativity.

Silver Circle was the beginning of Carly’s ultimate vision to integrate arts and wellness into one establishment. Carly’s background in fine arts, expressive art therapy, and communications fueled her desire to create a community space to promote the importance of art and aesthetics, self expression, stress management and personal development, and most importantly, a place to hold space for the integration of arts and wellness that cultivated community, social interaction, and connection to others. Carly’s recent career transition into integrative and functional medicine as a clinical nutritionist and integrative health practitioner fueled this vision, culminating into what is now Block 134, an arts & wellness collective, at its new location on Main Street in Putnam.
